Winemaker Richard Sowalsky is heading to the East Coast! Not everyone gets the chance to visit Calistoga for the Clos Pegase Experience, so this summer Richard is bringing the experience to you. #Chardonnay: the perfect summer sipper

Thursday, May 26, 2011 is all about the world’s most popular grape, #Chardonnay! The 2nd Annual #Chardonnay Day is a global event, with festivities taking place throughout the world, including some of the most renowned wine regions.
The goal of Global #Chardonnay Day is to celebrate the grape using social media (that’s Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, FourSquare, to name a few) as the thread that connects everyone together. Rick Bakas, of Bakas Media said it best: “It’s like setting a giant dining room table and inviting a few thousand close friends to do what we do best—share good conversation over a glass of wine.”
If you’re planning on coming to the Napa Valley for the holiday weekend, why not head up to Clos Pegase on Thursday, May 26, where we will feature a vertical tasting flight of our three Hommage Artist Series Reserve #Chardonnay wines? You may already be familiar with our Mitsuko’s Vineyard Chardonnay or our Late Harvest Chardonnay but we’ve gone into the depths of our wine caves for a few special bottles for you to taste. Not only will you have an opportunity to taste the 2007 Hommage Reserve Chardonnay, but we are also pre-releasing our 2008 Hommage Reserve Chardonnay for just 24 hours in honor of #Chardonnay Day. To round out the tasting flight, we have wrangled a barrel sample of our 2009 Hommage Reserve Chardonnay from winemaker Richard Sowalsky.
If your Memorial Day weekend plans don’t include a trip to Napa, you can still join us for a virtual tasting. We will have a Twitter feed following the #Chardonnay hashtag on display in our Visitor’s Center, where your tweet will be included along with those from other participants from #Chardonnay events around the world!
