Experimenting with Watercolors
Posted by Colleen | Events, Pegase Circle, Wine News | Posted on September 22nd, 2010
As a prelude to the Jan & Mitsuko Wine and Art Education Foundation, Clos Pegase, in coordination with acclaimed watercolorist, instructor and author, Barbara Nechis, will be hosting a workshop for all art lovers called Experimenting with Watercolor – beginners are welcome (drawing a straight line is not required!). The workshop will take place at Clos Pegase on Saturday, October 2 from 1:30pm – 3:30pm.
The first of many similar art-inspired workshops to be held at Clos Pegase, Experimenting with Watercolor will give participants a chance to learn interesting techniques for painting skies, water, trees, correcting mistakes, texture and abstract forms. Participants will have lots of time to experiment with watercolor, salt, saran wrap for mono printing, ink, water soluble crayons and pencils and much more to create their own masterpieces. The group will then proceed across the street to Barbara’s studio for a tour and lesson in framing. The workshop will conclude with a tour of Clos Pegase and a tasting of our estate wines.
The workshop is $45 per person for wine club members (and one guest) and only $65 per person for the general public. This includes a nifty little palette and archival mat to take home, as well as the course instruction, the tour of Barbara’s studio, a tour of the Clos Pegase facility and a private wine tasting. Complimentary paints, paper, brushes and other supplies will be available for use at the workshop. Space is limited to 20 people, so reserve your palette now by calling 707.942-9481 or emailing us at tenma@clospegase.com.
Mid-Summer Madness: A 'Totally Rad' Event
Posted by Colleen | Events, Pegase Circle | Posted on July 19th, 2010
Mid-Summer Madness has come and gone for another year. We had a successful 80s-themed birthday party for Jan, who was celebrating his 80th birthday on the actual date of Mid-Summer Madness (July 17) and we would be remiss if we didn’t show some photos. The bottle birthday cake was delicious (as a fan of chocolate, it did not disappoint) and the 80s attire was in full swing, as shown below.
If anyone has any photos of the day that they would like to submit, we will gladly accept (and give photo credit!) to those offering up their pictorial contributions. Send ‘em on over!
We thank everyone who attended for joining us in our celebration and we hope y’all got a chance to taste our barrel samples and Hommage wines!
