Clos Pegase Wine Education

We offer a hands-on seminar (and we use the term "seminar" loosely) that take a relaxed approach to learning about the wines of Clos Pegase.

Our Winemaker for a Day is a fun, interactive approach to the fine art of wine blending. By giving guests the chance to "play winemaker" for a day, everyone can experience different Bordeaux varietals and what they bring to the glass. Your group will be broken up into teams, with each person first vying to be the winemaker within their team. Once the winemaker and assistant winemaker have been selected via their blends, the remaining teammates are asked to put together other portions of a presentation in preparation for "launching" their newly developed brand. A label must be designed and the team must also create a presentation or commercial to sell this new wine blend that their team has created. A great way to enjoy the nuances of wine in a relaxed atmosphere, it's the perfect team-building activity for all.
Minimum 10 guests for this seminar please.

Wine Country Picnics

If you're looking for a casual luncheon in between tasting room visits, you and your guests are welcome to enjoy individual boxed lunches while visiting Clos Pegase. Our picnic grounds, which sit adjacent to our Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard, in the shady canopy of walnut and fig trees. All we need is 48-hour notice to get your lunch prepared and packed for you. It's the perfect way to grab a quick bite while tasting your way through the Napa Valley.

Clos Pegase Event Spaces

Cave Theatre

Imagine a candle-lit dinner, performance or presentation set in the enchanting stillness of the Clos Pegase aging caves. This dramatic, vaulted underground chamber is set amidst the 20,000 square-foot cave complex hewn out of an ancient volcanic knoll in the center of the estate. Nestled in its niches and alcoves, rare artifacts and sculptures add to the allure of this spectacular setting.

The Cave Theater is ideal for dining, live entertainment, lectures, seminars and presentations of all kinds. The 2,800 square foot room, which includes a multi-purpose stage area, was designed as a flexible space that can be arranged in a variety of theater or dining configurations, seating up to 120 guests (or up to 350 with a little creativity).

Harvest Dining Room

A sense of style. A warm-hearted feeling of easy hospitality. That's the combination that typifies the best of wine-country entertaining. And it's just how we'd describe our Harvest Room, with its soaring ceiling, marble fireplace, rich mahogany cabinetry, works of art from our collection, and views of the vineyards and mountains. The beautiful and historic chandeliers used to create perfectly lighted ambiance are made of Venetian glass and once hung as a single piece at the Shrem's former home in Paris, the same home that Napoleon built for one of his Marshals. Our Harvest Room seats 60 people for lunch or dinner, and up to 75 people when configured theater-style.

Portico Main Entrance & Courtyard

The main entrance to the winery, known as the Portico, makes a dramatic setting for a special evening. Tile flooring and an open-air skylight create a feeling of both intimacy and grandeur as guests dine at tables set up around the exquisite Henry Moore sculpture, "Mother Earth."

For outdoor events of all sizes, our favorite recommendation is the Courtyard, a lawn area behind the main entrance, set between elegantly groomed rows of Italian cypress trees. Seating capacity is upwards of 400 guests and configuration possibilities are virtually limitless.

Visitor's Center & Cask Room

Our gallery-like Visitor Center surrounds guests with art and sculpture by some of the world's most renowned artists. The Cask Room is ideal for indoor receptions, which surrounds guests with the artwork of our in-house artist. At the center of the room is an amazing piece of art which we call Mastaba. Modeled after an ancient Egyptian tomb, the Mastaba is ideal for beverage service and placed canapés.
